Goldwater suit stalls some Cave Creek Unified school renovations CCUSD

From the Arizona Republic...

Lawsuit stalls some school renovations

The lack of any real reporting by the Arizona Republic is stunning.
  • Where are the quotes from Ms. Friedman (who confirms they have not even tried to contact her) or any of the Cave Creek Unified governing board members?
  • Where is the response from Mr Warren who promised in 2009 that these funds would go to 'expand Cactus Sahdows', not a bunch of unrelated projects.
  • Where are the quotes from the author(s) this bill.
  • Who determined the 2009 law was too narrow?
  • Who authored the 2010 law and how is it more broad (despite the fact that the wording can only apply to CCUSD)?
  • What bond attorney vetted 'the law to ensure it was constitutional'?
  • Where is this vetting?

And one more thing, funny that the timeline on the right side of the page forgets to mention the issuance of bonds in 2006, starting the interest payments and prior to the vote for the new high school.

  1. What projects were started? What companies were involved? Follow the money and you might find more than a little face lift here and there.

  2. I go to Cactus Shadows and I am personally offended by the Institute's lack of responsibility in the issue. CCUSD took every measure to ensure that this was legal BEFORE designating the funds for renovations. The Institute should be suing the AZ legislature in response to Section 34 of HB2725 or Tom Horne. If we lose this lawsuit, the money is being taken from education. Anyone who supports this lawsuit is undermining the importance of a quality environment for students to learn. My sister is attending the school next year, and will remain there for four years. I would hope that she does not have to trudge over to a building not located on campus just to go to classes as I have had to do several times. This is appalling. I am ashamed of the Goldwater Institute because of this litigation.

  3. my dear child, this is called a back door deal. What would happen if you bought a car signed the papers made your payments and then low and behold the dealer picked up your car and replaced it with a bicycle. I bet you would be mad, you would feel deceived. Then on top of it you found out a political representative said it was OK!

  4. My dear child (if you really are a child but someone who works for CCUSD or Learning Yes). May be you should talk to your boss who plan to use this money to renovate a warehouse. Please CCUSD supporters stop masquerading your self as students etc.. to spread your propaganda.

  5. You are all children haters. I am embarrassed to live in the same neighborhood as you people who drive around in $50,000 cars but won't support your local schools.
