Cactus Shadows has an extremely poor showing in the College-Ready Performance index relative to neighboring schools. According to USN&WR, 6 out of 10 AP tests taken in Cave Creek Unified were failed. Compare this to Pinnacle just down the street where only 3 in 10 tests were failed.
On the IB side is is just as bad. CSHS had an exam pass rate of 69% while North Canyon (the IB high school in PVUSD) had an IB exam pass rate of around 81%. Don’t forget that North Canyon has a significantly higher number of low SES students. By all measures of AP and IB exam passing rates, Cactus Shadows is failing our advanced students.
