Cave Creek Unified supporters encouraged to rally for 18% sales tax hike

The district has sent out the clarion call for the lemming-like district advocates to support the 18% increase in the state sales tax. For those in Cave Creek this will put the retail sales tax at 10.3%. Even New York City, the tax capitol of the United Sates only has a rate of 8.875%.

Needless to say this tax is asinine and regressive. Of course it will make the lives of those in charge of providing services based on that revenue easier. Instead of having to make tough decisions and do what it right (like closing a school when the district has 1000s of empty seats), they can again defer or delay these decisions until next year when the budget is worse. Many of those lemmings will soon be tossing out their core values to support this tax hike because it is "for the children" and it "will only cost the average household 2-3 lattes a month", but most of all because it gets them in good with the district leadership.
