Hi, We have received a complaint from Cave Creek Unified School District that your account, @CCUSD93, may be in violation of Twitter's impersonation policy. In order to avoid potential confusion, we strongly suggest that you edit your account to clarify that it is not affiliated with the official organization. Twitter offers guidelines for accounts intended as news feed, fan, or commentary about brands. Please see the following support page for information about possible edits that would remove potential confusion. http://help.twitter.com/entries/18367-trademark-policy In particular, please review and make changes to these aspects of your profile to make it clear that your account is not affiliated with the trademarked brand: • Username:Add "fan" or "news" • Name: Add "unofficial • Bio: Add "not affiliated with CCUSD" You are free to continue operating your account so long as you make it clear it is not affiliated with the brand. However, please understand that your account is subject to permanent suspension if it is found to further violate our Rules regarding impersonation or fails to comply with the suggested edits. Please make the required changes within 48 hours. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter. Thank you, Th Twitter Trust & SafetySo we made the changes even though the profile was clearly labeled "CCUSD News and Views" and the account is active. We never used the account for impersonation, we only posted news type links or links to CCUSD Watch.
Of course the irony here is that we posted here and on Twitter that if the district is interested in the account, to email us. Never happend. So we will offer again.
Dear Cave Creek Unified 93,
Please contact us if you would like to discuss the @CCUSD93 and @CCUSD Twitter name. Instead of wasting your time and the taxpayer's money just email us.
Email: ccusdwatch@hotmail.com
Please note that Twitter's TOS do not allow for account transfers, and this is not an offer to buy, sell or a solicitation for the same.
I don't think they wasted their time or taxpayer money by reporting you. You were breaking twitter's rule and they were right to report you for it.
ReplyDeleteSince you didn't post my comment from the other day, I will rephrase with a question:
ReplyDeleteWhy do you want to waste the district and taxpayer's time and money with efforts that you know are clearly follies? You were clearly going against twitter policy taking those names and should have known better. The district chose the quickest solution to dealing with this which is reporting you to twitter per twitter policy.
