Open Enrollment Extended, Notification Delayed. Huh!

What is going on with Open Enrollment at Cave Creek Unified School District #93?

The district recently announces that open enrollment decisions have been delayed. This is really poor form, unfair to the parents who were promised a decision by mid-March, and will actually hurt open enrollment figures. Surrounding districts let parents know about OE decisions by February 1st. Paradise Valley will let you know about its decision by January 15th. Charter schools and private schools also let you know about enrollment in early February. By delaying notification until April 15th CCUSD is going to be LAST, and parents who have received a timely decision from another school will probably choose that school and NOT CCUSD. By delaying the decision CCUSD will be scrapping the bottom of the OE barrel so to speak.

DEAR CCUSD: If you make a promise to your potential CUSTOMER, you need to stick to it. No one believes that that you delayed OE decisions because of the overwhelming response. Let's try and act like the professionals you are paid to be.

One more thing, the community is not fooled by your hiding of OE enrolled students. You expect the community to support you when you ask for money for new schools, but we all know that CCUSD would not need new buildings if OE was capped.
