It is easy to see why. This survey relies heavily on AP scores and CSHS scores significantly trails these schools despite similar participation rates.
| Cactus Shadows High School | Desert Mountain High School | Pinnacle High School |

Hey, but at least Cactus Shadows is EXCELLING!
Administration at CSHS and CCUSD in general is a joke...I think next year we (community) band together and demand change...this is getting rediculous.
ReplyDeleteThat is the purpose of this blog. We feel sorry most of all for the parents who think that their children are getting an EXCELLING education when it is clear that CCUSD under performs surrounding schools. Nothing against the hard working teachers, but with a curriculum like the one that that CCUSD adopts, they don't have a prayer.
ReplyDeleteThe entire district is going downhill. It's not just the district office and CSHS. All of the schools are failing when it comes to leadership.
ReplyDeleteThese administrators know nothing about quality instruction. They are so out of touch with what's going on in their schools. They pride themselves as being excelling without understanding why exactly they are excelling.
ReplyDeleteI am former teacher and just found your site. In my few years there I worked at all 8 schools and agree that with the exception of one school that the administration is a joke! Pink slip them all!
ReplyDeleteThe Newsweek ranking is not based on AP and other testing scores. It is based on how many of these tests are actually given with no measure of actual performance. So a school can make the list if it tests all of its students, even if none of those students pass the tests. Many school superintendants from top school districts around the country object to the methodolgy and even request that Newsweek not include their districts. However, Newsweek did not honor any such requests.
