Cave Creek Unified 2010 AIMS Test Scores: Reading

Below are the AIMS 2010 Reading Mean scale score. This is the school\grade average scale score for all students who took the test. This is a much better indicator of performance that the groupings of passed (Exceed + Meets). To see how the scale scores map to percentages you can view the Scale Scores here. A good example is that a student only needs a 59% (32 correct out of 54) raw correct score to be considered 'Meets' in 3rd grade reading. This again shows how lacking the AIMS test is, yet here we are only considering relative performance between schools.

Again our schools sit firmly at the bottom of schools in the area (click to enlarge).

  1. How did they do from year to year? I.e. did the kids in 3rd grade in 2009 do better or worse than the kids in 4th grade in 2010?

I think you have to see if a particular group of kids showed improvement rather than just do a school to school measurement.
