Cave Creek Unified 2012 AIMS Score Comparison–Middle School

Here are the 2012 AIMS scores for CCUSD and schools in PVUSD, DVUSD, and SUSD that have scores better than the lowest performing CCUSD school. These are NOT the percentage passing (which is meaningless when trying to compare schools) but the 2012 AIMS mean scale score, ordered by the three test average. These scores are for 8th grade, which represents up to 9 years of education in the district.

Not encouraging. 24% of 8th graders in Cave Creek Unified failed the AIMS math test. That is close to 200 students. Scores after the break…

One more point, year over year the AIMS test content and scale scores change significantly make year over year comparisons worthless. It does have value for comparing schools to one another in the same year. (Click to enlarge)

  1. Wow... yet we get the blast v-mail yesterday from our "very proud superintendent" saying that based on the AIMS scores CCUSD rec'd it's "A' designation again? How can that be with 24% of 8th graders FAILING the math section?? Just another reason why it's hard to know what to believe around our district... well, one thing is for sure. .they'll probably blame this on us not being able to pass the override.. :(
