  1. I know about Jay C. Kules! He is a retired educator with 43 years experience. He is married to a retired educator with two grown sons. Check out Ryan Kules on the internet an American hero.

Purpose of running for CCSD School Board- The experience of 43 years as an educator uniquely qualifies me to represent issues of student learning and achievement. I want to represent the citizens of Cave Creek School District who pay school taxes but do not have children in the district schools plus property owners that pay taxes but vote elsewhere.I would like to propose a mentorship program for the students using the vast and varied expertise of the citizens of the Cave Creek School District. My family has had the financial discipline to live within our income of two educators so should the Cave Creek School District. Finally, as a parent of a wounded military officer /veteran I believe that all students of the district should begin their day at whatever school they attend with the Pledge of Allegiance. Unfortunately, this currently is not done on a daily basis in the high school.

  2. Mr. Kules - Who is supposed to pay for this "mentorship" program? I suspect that your 43 years as an educator has infused your thinking with the idea that there is an endless reservoir of money from taxpayer sources. Who will manage the mentorship program? Won't this result in just another layer of school administrative expense? I'm, quite sure a mentorship "program" ("program" being the key word that suggests an array of participants required at varying levels of coordination) will need a staff of educators to provide guidance, coordination and oversight. Also, isn't the daily teaching staff sufficiently competent to effectively transmit their curriculum to the students so that the knowledge is learned by all? Why are mentors needed? And why wouldn't the parent of a child requiring extra learning assistance be obligated to pay for the mentor themselves? Your idea is just another waste of taxpayer dollars that builds an eventual extravagant overhead expense that then goes on year-after-year with little to no benefit for the very few needy students that might benefit.

    Thanks you, CogitoErgoSum
